- Excuse me, how do I get to the bus station?
- Where is the nearest bank?
- Is it far from here? — No, it's about ten minutes on foot.
- Can you show me on the map?
Y las respuestas, que van en imperativo:
- Go straight ahead. — siga derecho.
- Turn left / Turn right at the corner.
- Take the second street on your right.
- Cross the street / the bridge.
- Walk two blocks.
- It's on your left.
- in front of — enfrente de
- behind — detrás de
- next to / beside — al lado de
- between — entre dos
- across from / opposite — frente a, del otro lado
- on the corner of — en la esquina de
- near / close to — cerca de
- far from — lejos de
- above / below, under / over, inside / outside
bus station, bus stop, train station, airport, park, square, church, school, hospital, pharmacy, bank, post office, library, museum, market, supermarket, restaurant, hotel, gas station, police station, bakery.
Medios de transporte
bus, taxi, train, car, bike, motorcycle, plane, boat, on foot.
- by para el medio: by bus, by car, by plane, by train.
- Pero on foot, no by foot.
- take para el vehículo: take the bus, take a taxi.
- get on / get off para bus y tren; get in / get out of para carro.
Horarios
schedule, timetable, departure, arrival, ticket, one-way, round trip, platform, gate, stop, route, fare, delay, on time.
Preguntas típicas:
- What time does the bus leave? — It leaves at 6:15.
- When does it arrive? — It arrives at 8:30.
- How long does it take? — It takes two hours.
- How much is a ticket to Limón?
Y se dice arrive in a city, pero arrive at the station.
Qué llevar y cuándo
backpack, suitcase, passport, ID card, ticket, money, map, water bottle, sunscreen, raincoat, umbrella, camera, charger, medicine.
Para hablar de necesidad: I need to bring…, You should take…, Don't forget your…, You have to bring…
- Restá para responder How long does it take?
- Las indicaciones van en imperativo: Go straight, turn left, cross the street.
- by bus / by car, pero on foot.
- arrive in una ciudad, arrive at una estación.
- across from es «frente a».
